Turning point
When I entered the second grade I was about seven years old. I was a good student but also a daredevil, I love doing things that other students thought was impossible. I loved heights, I loved doing crazy things. One morning was like any other Saturday morning: I woke up early, I prepared my cereal, I turned on the TV, and I watched cartoons. Right before I finished my cereal I the phone ring, I picked it up and it was my best friend Zach, he told to go to the park he just got a new football, and soccer ball.
I asked my mom for permission, and I left as if I was a road runner. I grabbed my new bluish-green mongoose BMX bike, and l headed for the park. The park was 6 blocks away from my house, when I was two blocks away from the park I was able to see Zach and my other friends playing already, in a blink of an eye a car hit my right side if bike like a brick wall. I fell and when I was able to get up the car left the scene. When I was able to get up, my right leg was in terrible pain. It took me about thirty minutes to get home and every step I took hurt more and more. I was dragging my bike while I was limping trying to get home, my dad saw me limping and he ran to my rescue he picked me up and forgot about the bike. My parents immediately took me to the hospital, the doctors told my parents that my hip was broken in three different places; they were surprised in how I was able to walk or limp home. They told my parents that I needed immediate surgery; my parents didn’t hesitate and did what was necessary. The surgery went great, and they told me I was ordered not to do any movement with my right leg for about two months. For the first month I didn’t go to school, I wasn’t getting any education for a month and some weeks, when I got to school I had to take a placement test, I was lower than the state standards I was supposed to be in. I went to classes that were for student s that were slower learners and I felt as if I was stupid. I was placed in those classes until I reached seventh grade. I was determined to be in a regular class with my friends and learn the same things at the same time. That summer I researched books and textbooks that a normal seventh grader will read, and I read all requirements needed to take for that year. At the age of 13 I took that same placement test and it took quite a while for me to get the results back from my instructors.
They asked for my parents to come in and myself, they told me that my scores were higher than normal, I exceeded the stated standards. I was placed in honors classes throughout my middle school years and I am currently taking honors classes in High School. I am also taking college courses while being in high school which not many students get that opportunity. I had my turning point at the age of thirteen, I was determined to school. I gave myself a promise that I will not let anything or anyone from telling me that I am not able to learn something a level that people set up, also that am able to learn anything if I set my mind to it. I will finish high school, I will finish college and I will accomplish my career. With God on my side nothing is impossible, also family supporting me, and believing in myself I can accomplish anything.
